Pay attention to your Heating and Cooling System

Your car’s heating and cooling system will no doubt keep you cool in the summer and warm during our long Canadian winters. However, what many people don’t realize is that it can also prevent your engine from overheating, thus protecting it and saving you from an expensive repair bill.

If you don’t want to be that driver that’s stuck on the side of the road with steam billowing from under your hood, you need to ensure your heating and cooling system is working properly. Having your system inspected on a regular basis by a licensed mechanic will greatly reduce this risk.

It’s also important that you take notice of some of the warning signs that could represent potential problems with your heating and cooling system. This would include dashboard notifications, the smell of anti-freeze in your car or seeing a coloured liquid on your driveway or parking space.

If you notice any of these, it’s likely time that you booked an appointment to have your vehicle’s heating and cooling system inspected. By being proactive, you can avoid any unnecessary expenses and the inconveniences associated with a vehicle that worn’t run properly.

Why you may need an Air Conditioning Inspection

During our hot summer months, a properly functioning air conditioning system can be highly beneficial, especially if you spend a lot of time in your vehicle. A poorly functioning a/c system can also have health implications for you, particularly if you have asthma or another respiratory condition or suffer from migraine headaches.

If your car is blowing hot air when the a/c is on or you can smell antifreeze, you likely have a problem with your a/c system. This could include problems with your compressor, condenser or evaporator, or it could also be the result of low levels of refrigerant in your system.

Regardless of the problem, it would be good idea to book an appointment so one of our trained technicians can take a look at your entire a/c system to uncover the root cause of your problem so it can be fixed. At JNB Auto Centre, we’re committed to only doing the work that’s required on your vehicle to get you back on the road safely and comfortably – nothing more and nothing less.
